A racing stables website for our client James Moffat in Cartmel. The family have been training winning racehorses for decades, and are situated close to Cartmel Racecourse itself. James wanted to work with a local agency who could visit on site to gain an understanding of the stables, take photographs and work closely with their team to produce a site which would present the company in the right way.
When designing new branding for James Moffat Racing Stables, we thought it would be best to take a trip to the stables in Cartmel, Cumbria. After a tour of the facilities we spotted that all the horse blankets had a distinctive blue colour. This was the starting point for the logo and then the colour and style was used throughout the new website. After talking to the client about the logo, we understood that the racing part of the business was the most important factor. We then decided to use a running horse in the logo along side the tag line “Racing Stables”. The client was very happy that the new logo matched his business and gave a professional and sharp feel to the website.
After designing the new logo for James Moffat we had a good idea of what sort of style and feel he would like for the website. After talking though websites that he liked and didn’t like, we got the message that he wanted clear white space, large high quality photographs to show off the stables and a video of the new gallop, pride of place on the home page. After designing the home page, James requested no changes and was happy for us to design the inner pages. We recommended having a team page so potential customers could see the team and learn more about who would be looking after and training their horses. This was also a great insight into how passionate the team are about working at the stables.
