Our client owns several small cottages in the Lake District, and wanted a website to showcase their features and location. Make Us A Website are based on the edge of the Lake district, so we are familiar with the surroundings, and scenery which brings millions of visitors flooding to the area each year. This in-house knowledge allowed us to focus our efforts of getting across what visitors would expect from the area. This holiday cottage website design project was done bespoke, from blank canvas.
After talking with the customer about colours, style and design we created a very unique collection of characters to accompany the new logo. The characters were to be woodland creatures and the colours of the logo would match. We chose shabby chic colours for the logo as the decoration inside the properties had a similar style. This proved very effective and the customer has since had signs and social media decorated with these designs.
Posh Bothy is a cottage and cabin rental website. This website holds 2 rental properties in the lake district and has a very unique and quirky style. When designing a new website for posh bothy we knew design and style was really important. We also framed all of the beautiful photos of the rentals and the scenery around, which we knew was a big selling point.
We provided training on how to edit the site, how to manage bookings, how to change images and how to keep the site looking fresh. The client planned to use social media as a tool to promote the site, so it was important the site linked properly to those social media networks.
The client had a number of change requests during the design, which were were happy to perform in order to gain the best possible outcome.
Social media was to be very important in this project, as we were looking to promote a new business on a smaller budget. We created a profile image, cover and twitter backgrounds to help decorate these profiles to match the website. This was to make the business eye catching and help attract new customers.
We also setup Google Analytics for the client, so that she could monitor the performance of the site. In addition we gave the client training in using analytics, which quickly allowed her to identify which websites she advertised on were providing the best quality of traffic. We found at launch the site had a very low bounce rate, which was as a result of an engaging design, and an easy to navigate menu.
